Akhenaten was a Pharaoh of the Eighteenth dynasty of Egypt who ruled for 17 years and was the father of Tutankhamun. Also the husband of Nefertiti. He is especially noted for abandoning traditional Egyptian polytheism and introducing worship only one God centered on the Aten.

“There is only one God. I can approach God by day, by night.”
