"Josep Maria Compte (Figueres 1961) is a contemporary Catalan artist close to conceptual practices. His work covers different artistic forms: painting, sculpture, installation and the art of action that he develops through various formulations, techniques and materials but which always revolve around form and color. He studied Fine Arts, currently lives and works in Torroella de Montgrí.
He has exhibited in national and international spaces such as the Vila Casas Foundation (Barcelona), the Galileo Cultural Center (Madrid) and the Venice Arsenal, and has also collaborated in various galleries and art fairs."
