Cast Bronze Abstract Sculptures

Inspiration often comes from the unexceptional, like a small piece of driftwood that has been shaped and polished by the grinding motion of the sea, bleached of colour by exposure to the corrosive salt and baking sun. I will look to the patterns and rhythms in nature, seed pods, shells, bones, trees, ferns and search out colour formations within the strata of the earth.

The solitude of making is where I find a stability, a feeling of certainty, a place to thrive and grow. I have always for as long as I can remember, had a constant instinctive desire to create. Clay has always been my material, the idea of taking a formless lump of earth and turning it into something that you are seeing for the first time, will always provide the motivation to return to the studio.
