From Denim Fabrics…
Denim is the longest-lasting textile in the world and the first appearance of this fabric started in the 18th century.
Since then people love to wear denim in many numerous circumstances as the fabric made of 100% cotton is extremely agreeable to wear even though there are pants, jackets, or any other apparel.
… To Denim Portraits
A Turkish artist named Deniz Sağdıç had come with an interesting idea.
To upcycle denim parts and to transform them into Portraits!
The first pavement on her journey was set in her childhood guided by relatives experienced in tailoring or designing. After that, she continued her passion by completing the University’s Faculty of Fine Arts where she graduated at the top of her class.
Now, if you admire Deniz’s amazing big portraits you can see that they are made of recycled denim fabric. The skill and the creativity of manipulating denim fabric are simply breathtaking.
Also, the details of the eyes in her large-scale portraits are marvelous and they are so realistic that you can swear they are painted if you look at them from far away.
Deniz’s denim artwork was admired in many solo and group exhibitions so let’s take a closer look at her artwork below.
